In highschool, I was never able to get through my assigned reading without assistance. I found myself completely distracted and re-starting paragraphs constantly or even falling asleep. My English teacher would hunt down and purchase audiobook versions just for me, to help me focus and get through my assignments. It was a game changer. Reading isn’t easy for everyone. Even now I notice my eldest child avoids reading but could sit and listen to mom read all day. After listening to some poorly read audiobooks, I was impressed to use my skillful voice to help make books more accessible and enjoyable to potential readers. My passion is in children’s literature and faith-based or inspirational work.
